About Me
Liz Tanner is a professional dancer turned passionate teacher and choreographer. Liz has enjoyed the gift of dance her entire life. She received her formal training in the Modern Dance Department at the University of Utah while getting her Bachelors degree. Here she focused on her love for Contemporary and Modern Dance, where her true passion lies. Also at the beginning of her dance career, Liz was a member of pre-professional company Odyssey II where she had the chance to train daily and perform in popular shows "Thriller" and "Shut up and Dance".
Once graduated, Liz had the opportunity to live in San Antonio where she performed at Sea World San Antonio in front of thousands of people in the popular nightly show "Jack is Back". She also participated with the San Antonio Dance Umbrella with Guest Artist Felicia McBride performing P.O.
Liz is an experienced teacher and has been sharing her knowledge of dance for 10 years. She has taught in studios in Salt Lake City UT, San Antonio TX, New Mexico, and Las Vegas NV. She currently is team director at The Glow Dance Company where she gets to create work and share her love of dance with kids ages 7-17. She also teaches Adult Contemporary Jazz classes at Millennium Dance Complex LV.
Liz's Pilates interest stemmed from her own rehabilitation after over 2 years of hip pain. She found Pilates as a way to strengthen her body and exercise without experiencing pain or discomfort. She is a true believer in the method and is certified through balanced body in Mat and Reformer. She later received her comprehensive training which includes Cadillac, chair and barrel through the Pilates Method Alliance. Her knowledge of the body and dance conditioning helps her students to become strong and functional dancers.
